Raleigh thrill-seekers will get the chance to rappel 30 stories in Raleigh on Oct. 1

RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh thrill-seekers will get the chance to rappel down a 30-story skyscraper in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, Oct. 1. The proceeds from the event hosted by Over The Edge will benefit Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). Over The Edge is a special events company that provides events for non-profit organizations.

Over The Edge is involved in the United States, Canada, Central America, Europe and Australia. The event this year in Raleigh will raise more than $100,000 which will provide to SONC in pursuing sports opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Participants in the event must raise a minimum of $1,000 to rappel.

Participant registration is now closed, but donations can be made to the event, an individual or team online. The public is encouraged to participate by supporting any registered individual or corporate team fundraiser.

With rainfall expected to impact the Triangle over the weekend, the Over The Edge technical staff will make all weather-delay decisions on Oct. 1.

The event is scheduled to be held from 9 a.m.to 6 p.m. on Saturday, at 150 Fayetteville St.
