GREENSBORO, N.C. — On World Giraffe Day, the North Carolina Zoo announced the name of a recently born giraffe.
After more than 100,000 votes, the public has decided that the male giraffe calf born on May 20 would be called ‘Fenn.’
Other names on the top of the list were Nelson, Mosi, Tamu, Jackson and Bongani.
When born, Fenn was about six feet tall and 145 pounds. He is expected to grow to 10-12 feet by his first birthday and reach full height at four.
