Man charged with setting fire at Wake County homeless shelter

A man is charged with arson after a fire at a homeless shelter in Raleigh on Tuesday night.

Raleigh police officers were investigating the incident at Oak City Cares, located at 1430 S. Wilmington St.

Devon Lovegrove-Mosby, 27, was seen being taken away in handcuffs. 

Court documents show Lovegrove-Mosby was arrested and charged with first-degree arson after he allegedly tried to burn a home operated by Wake County. He also faces drug charges.

Police said several people living there were inside the building at the time. 

The motive of the incident is still unclear. 

Lovegrove-Mosby is expected to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.
