Three puppies are recovering Monday night after a Rocky Mount animal group said they were discovered in a trash bag over the weekend.
According to Blazin’ Trails Bottle Babies, a group that offers neonatal care for abandoned or orphaned puppies, Animal Control officers contacted them after officers discovered three two-and-a-half-week-old puppies inside a trash bag.
The puppies, named Emma, Evans and Elijah, had dehydration and worms. The animal group said the animals are also experiencing emotional trauma.
The three puppies are now recovering at a foster home, and the animal group hopes they can find permanent homes in the coming months
