A return to remote learning not likely, Secretary Kinsley says

On Tuesday, The Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said schools will not be closing as COVID-19 cases rise in the state.

Kody Kinsley said remote learning is not in the playbook in an exclusive interview with WRAL News.

“That is not where we need to be,” Kinsley said. “We have the tools to manage COVID so COVID doesn’t manage us.”

Kinsley said his department is minimizing the risk by promoting vaccinations, at-home testing, treatments for if you contract COVID and masking for those who do not want to be vaccinated.

Still, Kinsley said surge levels now are not much higher than where they were last year.

Kinsley’s full interview, which also discussed delays in Medicaid expansion, can be found in the video below.
